The RAV Calculator
Losing a job often brings financial uncertainty. To give you a quick overview, PARAT offers a free RAV Calculator. You can find it at parat.pro/rav-rechner.
How does the RAV Calculator work?
The calculator is based on the official ALV guidelines of Switzerland (as of 2026). It calculates the following values based on your previous gross salary, your age, and your maintenance obligations:
- Daily Allowance Rate: Whether you are entitled to 70% or 80% of your insured earnings (e.g., 80% if you have maintenance obligations towards children).
- Waiting Days: The number of days you have to wait after registration before you receive your first daily allowance (depending on the amount of your last income).
- Financial Runway: An estimate of your monthly budget so you know how much money is available to you.
You can easily fill out the calculator form on the desktop. The results will be displayed directly below the form.
On your iPhone, the calculator adapts to your screen size. Scroll down to see the results after filling out the form.

Important Notes
- Estimates: The results of the calculator are estimates. Your individual situation and exact deductions (such as AHV/IV/EO, ALV, UVG) can slightly alter the final net daily allowance.
- No Guarantee: The official decision of your unemployment fund is always authoritative.
- Support: The calculator is designed to relieve your financial pressure by providing clarity. This allows you to fully concentrate on your applications.
Use the calculator as an initial guide and plan your budget accordingly.
